Résumé |
|
Cet
ouvrage aborde à la fois des aspects
théoriques ainsi que des applications
industrielles. Il arrive à point pour
transmettre et initier au verre un plus large
public. L’ouvrage traite des points
suivants :
• origine
• définition
• analyse de la structure nanométrique
et de ses propriétés physiques
• analyse de ses propriétés
chimiques
• techniques d’élaboration
et de mise en oeuvre.
Ce livre s’adresse aux chercheurs,
enseignants et professionnels du verre,
ainsi qu’à toute autre personne
souhaitant acquérir des connaissances
de base sur ce matériau.

Résumé |
|
Cet
ouvrage est traduit du français par
William D. Scott et Claire Massart. L'original
en français a été publié
en 1982. La bibliographie a été
complétée. Des informations
ont été ajoutées sur
les verres d'halogénures et les verres
métalliques. Un chapitre supplémentaire
traite de la synthèse de verres à
partir de gels. |

Résumé |
|
This
monograph stems from the lectures given during
the summer course at the University of La
Laguna, Canary Islands, Spain. It includes
the main characterization techniques useful
nowadays for ceramics, glasses, and glass-ceramics,
and reviews the new microscopes for characterizing
materials, and gives an overview of inorganic
materials such as zeolites. The theory for
XRD texture analysis and analytical methods
are also covered.

Résumé |
|
This
book is one of the series reporting on international
research and development activities on products
and processes conducted by the Schott Group.
It is written by experts from the Schott R&D
department and their external partners in
research. The glass melts are good electrolytes
and the importance of electrochemistry for
them is quite obvious. With glass articles,
electrochemistry is always involved and some
articles are fabricated because of the electrochemical
properties of their glass parts. This volume
gives background knowledge on the electrochemical
behaviour of glass melts and solid glasses.
Redox and ion-transfer processes, which are
responsible for many phenomena observed in
glass during processing or in its daily use,
are extensively treated. Practical examples
provide the reader with the facts for studying
the various electrochemical aspects of the
behaviour of ion-conducting materials. Among
these are : mechanisms responsible for glass
corrosion ; fundamental and the application
of glass electrodes for pH measurements, complemented
by information about the ongoing redefinition
by IUPAC ; field-driven ion exchange at glass
surfaces or within electrochromic thin-film
systems ; fining during production processes
; interface reactions and thermodynamic equilibria
of glass melts with refractories or the surrounding
atmosphere. |
