This book is a thorough description of a private collection of ancient glass which spans a period of approximately 1000 years. After a short survey of the history of ancient glass concentrated on the period of the collection and a glossary of technical terms, the catalog, arranged in chronological order of the objects, exhibits the collection in perfect full-colour photographs together with short captions. All 85 items in the collection are described in detail in a separate part of the catalogue. Each entry contains the catalogue number and title, the object description, the basic technique of manufacture and decoration, the condition specifying the state of preservation of the object, remarks containing historical and art-historical information, the classification if any, the provenance and the parallels which contains references to published parallels.
