“Loading of the gob in the blank mould is an important sub process in the production of glass containers. Many forming specialists agree that the majority of the critical defects are due to a bad gob loading.
The operators and glass specialists are confronted with the many unknown parameters of the gob delivery and loading of the gob in the blank mould, like the speed of the gob, length, position and orientation. Or they have to cope with changes of the friction of the delivery due to coating, wrong alignment, increasing wear, influence of greasing. In spite of all these unknown parameters of the gob loading no tool exists to optimize this important sub process.
XPAR Vision will present their “GOB Assist” system which will be an indispensable tool for the operator. In addition a few different cases about improvement of the gob loading will be presented and discussed.”
